Whether my client's a grandmother and needs to pick up and chase after the grand kids, or an NFL lineman who needs to develop power and explosiveness, function is of the utmost importance. In my opinion it should be the cornerstone of any program. Improved "fitness" will, nevertheless, be the ultimate result of a functional, performance-based program.
